Terms of Service

1. Operator and agreement

These Terms govern the talkstep app and website (the “Service”) provided by ROWAN INTERACTIVE (“we,” “us,” or the “Operator”) and define the rights and responsibilities of users and the Operator.

2. The Service

talkstep provides situational English and Korean speaking practice, recording and playback, progress and review, continuous conversation, AI-based speech analysis and feedback, and free web practice content. Availability may vary by region, device, app version, plan and entitlement.

3. Accounts

• Use an Apple, Google, or other account you are authorized to use.
• Keep your sign-in information and device secure and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized use.
• You may request account deletion in the My screen. Deleted learning history and entitlements may not be recoverable.

4. Free and paid services

• Prices, duration and benefits are those displayed in the app and Apple App Store or Google Play at purchase.
• Monthly subscriptions such as Plus and Pro may renew automatically under the applicable store policy until canceled there.
• Consumables such as AI feedback credits and staff-role turns are used in displayed units and used units may not be restored.
• Manage, cancel and request refunds under the policy of the store where you purchased.
• Deleting your account or app does not cancel an active store subscription.
• When our error prevents an AI-feedback request from completing, the related credit should not be consumed.

5. AI features

AI scores, transcripts and feedback are learning aids. Speech recognition and generative AI may produce inaccurate or incomplete results. Do not rely on the output as the sole basis for professional, legal, medical, or other important decisions.

6. Your content

You retain rights in voice recordings you create. You permit us to store, copy, transmit and process them only as needed to provide synchronization and AI analysis you request. Server recordings are removed when your account deletion completes.

7. Prohibited conduct

• Unauthorized use of another person's account, voice, or payment information
• Reverse engineering or disruption through abnormal automated requests, payment circumvention, or vulnerability exploitation
• Uploading material that violates law, public order, copyright, privacy, reputation, or other rights
• Unauthorized bulk copying, distribution, or sale of the app, design, learning content, or AI output

We may restrict use after notice when a violation is confirmed. Urgent security or rights concerns may be restricted first and explained afterward.

8. Changes and availability

We may change or temporarily suspend the Service for security, maintenance, technical, or policy reasons. We will announce material changes to paid core features or expected long outages and take measures required by law.

9. Intellectual property

Rights in the talkstep app, trademarks, design, learning structure and sentences, audio, and Operator-provided material belong to the Operator or their lawful owners. These Terms grant only a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service.

10. Limitation of responsibility

We provide the Service with reasonable care. To the extent allowed by law, responsibility may be limited for interruption or loss caused by events beyond reasonable control, including networks, devices, App Store, Google Play, external AI services, or force majeure. Mandatory consumer-protection rights always apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect law or Service changes. Material changes adverse to users will be announced in the app or on this page before taking effect.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. We and users will first try to resolve disputes in good faith, without limiting rights to use a court or dispute-resolution body provided by applicable law.
